Masterplan - Vejle Gardens
Vejle is exposed to flooding due to climate change and rainwater run-off from the surrounding hills. The district Østerbo is especially at risk, as it is located directly by the fjord. The project transforms the district into an urban landscape. This combines both, the natural assets of a green recreational area with it's ability o store and drain water and the amenities of urban density. Similarly, social inclusiveness and diversity are enhanced by creating three distinct districts with their own identities. This is further complemented by public meeting spaces, bringing together people from every background.
The 3 districts with distinct identities - Plantehaven, Landsbyhaven, Havnehaven
The water management is designed to be responsive to different rain events
